STAGE ACTIVITY HOW IT ASSISTS STRUGGLING LEARNER WARM UP/REVIEW First, begin by explaining to the students what the weekly lesson will be. (Doctor's Visit) All of the students have had their own experiences with doctors. This is the opportunity for the students to express their thoughts. INTRODUCTION Talking about personal experinces with their classmates. By this time i already know who are the stuggling learners. What i would do is ask them simple questions in regards to their experiences. e.g. How did you feel? Nervous, scared, weak. PRESENTATION COMPREHENSION CHECK Vocabulary words is always a good way to start out the lesson. I have also included chalk talk which facilitates the vocabulary. As I have the vocabulary on the board I also spell it so that the students can listen to the letters. One by one I have the students repeat. For the visual learner I have images and words. For the auditory learner I spell out the words. I place the students into groups so that they can teach other and review with each other. (As you might know students teaching students is a great way for them to learn the lesson). PRACTICE Using cut outs from magazines the students will make a collage and with short sentences or phrases. The student will explain how the picture is related to a visit at the doctors by using the vocabulary.
